Rethinking Missions
The Rope was founded in 2024 to change the outcomes of church mission programs. We partner with churches to strengthen missionary care so fewer people leave the field for preventable reasons. Since our founding we’ve sent four missionary kids to teen camp, published numerous articles on improving mission practices, and continued building resources and relationships that make mission work healthier and more sustainable. We do this because Jesus saves, and we are passionate about sharing that hope with the world.
Meet the Founder
Meet Esther Russell — founder of The Rope.
Called to the mission field at a young age, Esther has spent several years visiting missionaries, listening to their stories, and learning the realities of life on the front lines of ministry.
Determined to change that outcome, Esther founded The Rope. Her vision is practical and urgent: equip churches to care for their missionaries well, and encourage missionaries to share honestly about the joys and struggles of ministry. By strengthening the connection between sending churches and those they send, The Rope seeks to remove barriers that hamper gospel advancement and help teams remain effective, resilient, and faithful.
